DOCX Inspector Terms of Use

1. Service

The DOCX Inspector is a free, browser-based utility provided by Tailored AI Services GmbH that inspects Microsoft Word (.docx) files for hidden content. The categories surfaced include tracked changes, comments, hidden text, document properties (author, last-modified-by, company, template), and embedded files or media.

100% client-side processing. All inspection happens inside your web browser. The file is not uploaded, not transmitted to us or any third party, and not stored on any server. The analysis and the downloadable report are generated locally on your computer.

2. No guarantee of completeness

The tool is an aid, not a guarantee. It surfaces common categories of hidden content but cannot guarantee that a document is free of all sensitive or hidden information. You remain solely responsible for reviewing and clearing any document before you send it.

3. Provided "as is"

The tool is provided without warranty of any kind to the extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the tool will be uninterrupted, error-free, or suitable for any particular purpose.

4. Limitation of liability

4.1 Tailored AI Services GmbH is liable without limitation for damages caused by intent (Vorsatz) or gross negligence (grobe Fahrlässigkeit).

4.2 For damages caused by slight negligence (leichte Fahrlässigkeit), Tailored AI Services GmbH is liable only for the breach of a material contractual obligation (Kardinalpflicht), that is, an obligation the fulfilment of which is essential to the proper performance of the contract and on whose observance the user may regularly rely. In such cases, liability is limited to foreseeable damage typical for this type of agreement.

4.3 Because the tool is provided free of charge, §521 BGB applies in addition: liability for slight negligence is excluded to the extent permitted by that provision.

4.4 The foregoing limitations do not apply to:

  • injury to life, body, or health;
  • mandatory statutory liability, including liability under the German Product Liability Act (Produkthaftungsgesetz, ProdHaftG);
  • the fraudulent concealment of a defect (arglistiges Verschweigen eines Mangels);
  • liability arising from the assumption of a guarantee (Garantie); or
  • any other liability that cannot be limited or excluded by law.

5. Intellectual property

The tool, its design, its underlying code, and its associated documentation are owned by Tailored AI Services GmbH. You are granted a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the tool for its intended purpose. You may not redistribute, republish, reproduce, decompile, reverse-engineer, or create derivative works of the tool, in whole or in part, without our prior written consent. Use of the tool against Tailored AI Services GmbH for the training of artificial-intelligence models is expressly not permitted.

6. No consumer dispute resolution

Tailored AI Services GmbH is neither willing nor obliged to participate in dispute-resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board (Verbraucherschlichtungsstelle) within the meaning of the VSBG.

7. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms and the use of the tool are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG). Where the user is a merchant (Kaufmann), a legal entity under public law, or a special fund under public law, the exclusive place of jurisdiction is Hamburg, Germany. Mandatory consumer-protection provisions of the user's country of habitual residence remain unaffected.

8. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is or becomes invalid or unenforceable, the validity of the remaining provisions shall not be affected.
